Interaction

I’ve passed by this group of protesters many times with a glance in their direction. Occasionally, I’ve noticed other drivers either supportive or mad about the demonstrators, blaring out their views usually with a honk of their horn.

I wanted to show this element in a picture featuring one of the protesters, Aida Bound, who has a long history of being involved in national demonstrations. She would only be at the corner protesting for 30 minutes, and light would be quickly fading last Wednesday before the time change cut even that amount in half.

This was the last frame I shot that night at the protest and I am so glad the person in the car has their arm out of the window, showing their support. Otherwise the picture would have no interaction between motorist and protester - you just can’t show the sound of a honking horn in a picture.
