Ephrata took its first step towards a state championship today with a 65-56 victory over W.F. West on Wednesday morning at the Tacoma Dome. Daniel Simon and Ryan Lutz each had 15 points as the Tigers took over the game in the second and third quarters.Ephrata withstood a run by W.F. West over the last few minutes, but it wasn’t enough. Defending 2A state champion Lynden awaits in the quarterfinal round after beating Foster in overtime Tuesday morning.
