I knew nothing about this until talking to my children, ages 11, 15, and 17. Even with their explanation about what Guitar Hero was, I was surprised at how fun it actually is - and I only was watching and shooting video.

I tried to show that excitement in the video but a challenge for me was the lighting and the sound. The room had to be dim so the screen would be easy to see for the competition, and there were three games going on at the same time so the sound many times wasn’t clear.

I was able to use a shotgun mike to somewhat isolate the sound and found one game in the large room that was lit better than the others. It also helped to find a person who could explain the game.
