Dancing club
My assignment was to photograph the dancing group, the Promenaders, who meet at the East Wenatchee Grange. I expected dancers twirling in hoop skirts but when I arrived, shorts were the norm as it was an informal dance. I wanted to do something different with the photographs anyhow, the swirling skirts shot has been done many times before, so I concentrated on faces and how members were enjoying themselves.
But I had to shoot a little bit of slow motion to show the speed and fluidity of their movements.
And the building at twilight with dancers outside created a great closing image to the story.
