Couldn’t pass it up
On my way back from the Chelan basketball game traveling on the east bank of the Columbia River on Highway 97, I kept looking up at the moon that was peering through a bank of fog hanging over the nearby mountains. It was interesting, but not until I saw trees silhouetted along the top of the hills did a picture possibility pop out at me.
I drove back to a couple of places along the highway to shoot the pictures but discovered that there wasn’t a tripod in the news car I was driving. I ended up shooting the picture from inside the car, steadying the camera by pinning the lens between the window and door frame (probably not good on the electric windows nor the lens).
The picture came out pretty sharp at 1/8 second, f2.8, ASA 3200 with a 105mm lens. It was 10:36 p.m. when I took the picture.
