Here are some of the things we’re working on this week. Let me or the reporters know of a story you think we should cover.

We plan to be at the speech tonight in Wenatchee of Nobel Prize-winning environmentalist and political activist Wangari Maathai.

We’ll be taking a closer look at the issues raised by the city of Wenatchee’s affordable housing consultant.

The Chelan County PUD is taking up the issue of docks along shorelines.

The U.S. Forest Service is expected late this week to release its list of campgrounds, trailheads and recreations sites to be closed or have shortened seasons. The agency is cutting spending.

Longer term, we’ll also be taking a closer look at the Buckhorn mine getting ready to open in Okanogan County after two decades of battles with environmentalists.

We also plan a story taking a look at riverfront land ownership in Wenatchee.

And, in case you’re wondering, we’ll be doing some Apple Blossom Festival coverage, too.
