There might not be hockey in the new arena, but there will be basketball … on ice!
Applesauce had a bit of an extended weekend the last four days, but now I’m back to blog away about all things Wenatchee Valley.
Before I left for my four-day weekend I met with Linda Haglund and Rob Cline, both with the Greater Wenatchee Regional Events Center. They both commented on the possibility of the area opening up without its coveted anchor tenant — an amateur hockey team. They also spilled the beans on the first major family event booked for the arena — “Disney’s High School Musical: The Ice Tour.”

So while there is a possibility of there not being amateur hockey players lacing up their skates when the arena opens, judging from the above video there will be a team of hoops-shooting, song-singing, ice skaters performing at the arena in late October.
