East Wenatchee Mayor Steve Lacy as a bobblehead doll?
I recently had a garage sale and while digging though boxes of old stuff that was up for sale I saved a prized possession of mine that I didn’t even know I still had: a talking bobblehead doll of former Seattle Sonics announcer and current Seattle Sounders play-by-play man, Kevin Calabro.
The doll says five different phrases, including his trademarks “Get on the magic carpet and ride,” “Good golly Miss Molly” and my personal favorite “Flying chickens in a barnyard.”
Since I saved KC from the garage sale box I had to find a new home for him, so I decided to place him on my desk here in the newsroom.
The sports writers in the office all knew who he was on site but some of the reporters who aren’t sports savvy were scratching their heads trying to figure out who exactly the bobblehead character on my desk is. One reporter asked if it was East Wenatchee Mayor Steve Lacy.
Obviously there is not a Lacy bobblehead doll.
But if you compare pictures of Calabro and Lacy there is sort a resemblance.
What do you think?
